Elizabeth A. Knoot

Elizabeth A. Knoot graduated from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota in 2011. Liz obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Spanish from Iowa State University in 2003. During her tenure at Iowa State University she studied abroad in Valladolid, Spain, developing her foreign language skills, and experiencing first-hand the life of a foreign national. After graduation Liz continued to travel extensively, visiting various countries in Central America and the Caribbean.

Liz obtained her paralegal certificate from the Minnesota Paralegal Institute in 2004 and began working with Fishman & Binsfeld as a Legal Assistant in 2005. In that role she worked on a wide range of immigration cases, including business immigration, family immigration, removal, and asylum. Liz has worked for several other twin cities law firms where she has worked to secure the rights of individuals and businesses in cases ranging from products liability to employment law. She has assisted with cases before various federal district courts and state courts.

In law school Liz developed a special interest in the property rights of foreign nationals. Specifically, she has extensively studied property distribution to foreign nationals who are physically present inside the United States and those present in other countries.

Liz lives in Maple Grove with her family.
