Misti R. Allen Binsfeld

Misti R. Allen Binsfeld, J.D. primarily practices immigration law. Her practice is divided among business, family, and asylum immigration. Misti has been a partner at the law office since 2000 and leads the firm’s business immigration practice.

Misti adds a personal touch to business immigration. She represents start-up businesses and large international companies and their employees. She meets with the sponsoring employer and beneficiary to identify long and short-term goals. Together they discuss options and develop a road-map to obtain results which will enable a long-term and productive employer-employee relationship. She maintains consistent client contact with both the employer and employee and keeps abreast of new opportunities for businesses and their employees. Excellent case management and client service is the key to her successful practice.

Misti has been fortunate to meet and work with many families who seek to live together in the United States. She represents foreign nationals currently living in the United States as well as those who are living abroad. Misti represents clients before the Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Department of State, and the Immigration Courts. Most often, family members maintain their attorney-client relationship with Misti until they are sworn as naturalized United States citizens.

Misti has a particular interest in representing clients who are victims of, or fear becoming victims of gender violence. For more than 15 years, Misti has been representing women and children who have experienced or who fear future persecution in their home countries based upon their gender and social group. She has met many amazing women. Most of these clients continue contact with Misti well after their cases have ended. Misti is a passionate advocate for those who oppose persecution to females.

During the last several years, Misti has developed a practice representing victims of crime while living in the United States. She has developed positive relationships with enforcement authorities as she presents a well organized and supported request for benefits that lead to lawful immigration status in the U.S. Her detailed case analysis includes identifying indirect victims and derivative family members’ potential immigration benefits.

Misti finds great reward in her immigration practice. Misti’s profession allows her to meet people from around the world, learn about many cultures, countries’ histories and current events. Most importantly, Misti’s profession allows her to help people gain immigration benefits in the United States for a whole host of reasons.

In her free time, Misti enjoys working with young people to reach their educational and professional goals. She has mentored many undergraduate and law students. She enjoys running and spending time with her family.
